CRASH AND BLOOM

Several months ago, I accidentally ran over a few pots of geraniums. It's an embarrassing story but suffice it to say that the flowers and their containers sacrificed themselves to protect me and my car from getting seriously damaged.

As grateful as I was to be largely unaffected by the mishap, I was a little upset that I had killed these beautiful flowers. Thankfully, they're resilient and after a little recovery time and some new pots to call home, they are beginning to blossom.

The incident reminded me of a few things.

1) Pay attention - life can change in a moment.

2) Without realizing it, some things are placed in our paths to protect and/or redirect us.

3) Being uprooted from a familiar place or situation can be jarring, but we can usually learn to bloom again after a little rest and recovery.

Grateful for these gorgeous flowers and all they've shared with me!

Can you think of a block or obstacle in your life or business that actually protected you from making a bad deal, poor decision, or major misstep? Have you ever been abuptly removed from a place or situation only to find you bloomed better somewhere else?

When you are in the midst of a mini-disaster or crash like I had, it can be tough to see it as a blessing. But I believe that even in the midst of the detours of live, seeds for future success - or our current well-being - are being planted in our midst. It's our job to slow down, find some sunshine, and give them the space to blossom around us.
