Full Circle Moments

Last week, I was in Dallas for the American Massage Therapy Association's National Convention. As much as I have travelled lately, I have to admit that part of me was not excited about going. However, on my last day there, I got an incredible affirmation that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
After a fun but tiring day assisting my friend and colleague, Linda Nordahl, in her first national class, I planned to spend Friday afternoon wandering the trade show and getting some free treatments. However, before I got there, I was passing out positive thought cards in the registration area.
After I talked Dr. Marc Ellis, a massage therapist/chiropractor whom I'd just met, into taking one of my positive thought cards, he asked for some extra cards to take back to his chiropractic clinic in GA. This sparked a fun conversation as he headed off to teach a class.
On a whim, I decided to help Marc set up and be on-hand in case he needed anything. He set up quickly, and a few of us were relaxing in the room before the start.
After pausing to check my email, I looked up to see Marc offering one of the early birds a positive thought card the way I usually do. I was so touched that I grabbed my phone to get a picture of the scene.

To my surprise, the next person he offered a card to was Claire Miller, a long-time and much beloved instructor who taught Reflexology at AMTA this year. Claire also teaches pre-natal massage and was the "mother" of my Massage School class - i.e., my first professional massage instructor.

We recognized each other immediately, and I was overwhelmed with emotion by this full-circle moment. Without Claire, I wouldn't be the massage therapist I am, and my positive thought cards might not have ever come into existence.

I dare say those cards change as many lives as my hands ever have. They open doors and hearts everywhere I go.
And on Friday, they led me to a class I had no intention of being in...introduced me to an incredible instructor whom I highly recommend...and reconnected me with my roots in the massage profession. How lovely to experience seeing my art and healing art so beautifully intertwined!
Even as I type this in the Dallas airport, I am overcome with tears and emotions about this beautiful full-circle moment. (And not just because my flight was delayed yet again:-)
In case it wasn't already crystal clear, I was meant to be at AMTA, Claire brought up the "Falling Water" house in conversation. Just a day or so earlier, one of my massage school classmates sent me a pic of that very house.
Later, I was walking in the trade show and ran into Scott Raymond and Melissa. After laughing at an inside joke about a "bad" card Melissa drew the other night, she told me that she used that card in class as part of a story. Wow!
It was an amazing afternoon! I feel blessed, grateful, and know 100% I was meant to be at AMTA this year!
Imagine where you might find yourself if you followed your impulses and energy. Your body, mind, and spirit are wise beyond belief. Take time to listen to them:-)
