Leaping with Love

Yesterday, I took a giant step to show that I'm really serious about my art. I submitted this piece for consideration in an outdoor exhibition in Orlando... and it was accepted!! Suddenly, my step felt like a leap off a cliff into the unknown, but it is exciting!❤️

The exhibition is a year-long tribute to LOVE, hope, joy, inclusion, and community as a response to the abrupt removal of the colorful crosswalks (and other street art) in Orlando and other cities. The art will be created and displayed on 49 parking spaces donated by Se7enbites, a local restaurant that has garnered national attention and awards.🌈

I've never done art on a large scale before, and never painted a parking space. But as soon as I saw the post for this project yesterday, I wanted to do it.🎨

Amazingly, yesterday morning, BEFORE I saw the post, I wrote an idea in my journal about creating a "crosswalk" shirt or design. Some local businesses and homeowners have been doing this on their driveways, in windows, walkways, etc., so why not join in the love, right?🥰

Anyway, the original design "Love Is Our Language" is in the process of being reworked in a vertical layout for my parking space (#23). I think it will be a perfect addition to the art installation!💙

I'm also looking for a few helpers to pass out positive thought cards, take photos, and talk to people coming by.❤️

I'm super excited to share my art in this new way and know that every bit of positivity aimed in my direction will help me stay focused, calm, and energized until the work is done!🤟
